Aussie Minds is built from an ongoing national survey of more than 3,000 Australian adults aged 18+, alongside qualitative depth from 24 participants across three-day online discussion boards and 12 in-depth interviews.

TRA has studied MindSets as a concept since 2018 and has surveyed Australians against this framework since 2021, meaning the six MindSets are not based on a one-off study.

The framework is grounded in established values and moral psychology research, including Schwartz’s theory of basic human values and Haidt’s moral foundations theory.
